The New Moon at 27°07’ on February 15th 2018 at 21:05 UT offers the opportunity to rationalise a situation which has been tangled up in emotion and blown out of proportion. There is a gift from Uranus, the planet of sudden change and cutting of ties – currently situated in Aries – as it is able to offer fresh perspective. This may occur as a sudden realisation that things have, or need to change. Perhaps it comes as a bolt from the blue with no prior warning – Uranus in Aries is very swift and gathers no moss! Whatever this moment of realisation is, it may well pull the rug from underneath you leaving you out there, on your own, flat on your derrière. This shift of consciousness from your previous state will offer enough clarity for you to look at the truth of the situation no matter how deeply buried it may have been.

The Allegory of the Cave

In London according to Universal Time (UT), the ascendant sign for this New Moon is in Libra, the sign of relationships, law and harmony. Often when Libra is in the mix, there is the need for diplomacy in some way or another, and there will have been a situation which needs to be tempered – before tempers fray! Venus, ruler of Libra is in Pisces during the New Moon. Venus in Pisces is a soft, malleable and Pisces is a creative place for her. In a sextile to Saturn, she can immerse herself in the comfort of a dreamy, protective littoral cave. However, her locality in this picturesque hidey-hole may actually be more like the Plato’s ‘Allegory of the Cave‘, obscuring her true perception of the outside world. Being thrust into the broad daylight outside the cave before she is ready can feel unfair. But if the conditions are right, she might just cope.

With Jupiter, planet of excess, currently transiting Scorpio, sign of secrets and transformation, the challenge of this New Moon is the desire to remain anonymous, whilst dealing with the revelatory power of Uranus who is offering an opportunity for whatever is below the surface, to expose itself. Both truthful signs, Scorpio wants to hold the truth down and keep it hidden in the depths, whilst Aquarius wants to thrust it up and onto the podium for all to see. This is an uncomfortable tension battling between self-preservation and the preservation of peace for all in the long-term. The phrase “you’ve got to be cruel to be kind” might be reverberating around your cranium right now and it’s true – the truth can be painful, but it’s also the key to closure and the fast-track to healing.

The Direct Approach

Speaking of temper, solo adventurer and spontaneous Mars in Sagittarius has a lot to say to both Aries and Scorpio as he is the ruler of both signs (traditionally Scorpio), giving him extra communication power to Jupiter and Uranus during this New Moon – especially to Jupiter as they are in each other’s signs meaning they are in mutual reception. Imagine popping over to your neighbours’ house and them popping into yours at the same time, and having a chat with them over the garden fence. They have a familiarity of territory enabling ease of communication. This makes Mars intrinsic to the process of this New Moon. As Sagittarius is such a buoyant and footloose sign it really allows a direct approach to the issues arising from the preceding days, through an honest and truthful lens. Sagittarius isn’t one to hold on, so the new information to be processed will be dealt with and released.

Are you currently keeping the truth from yourself? Holding on to a situation which is overdue for change? Or are you moving forward, ready for a new chapter and prepared to leave the past where it belongs? The future is a scary and unknown place if you wish to remain in the comfort of the familiar. But if you can let go, embrace the potential of the unknown and release your grip on now, the first day of the rest of your life is before you. There is currently a Stellium in Capricorn which contains within it, the New Moon. Accompanying the New Moon is Saturn, Mercury, Lilith, Pluto, and Venus. This is the time to take our relationships more seriously and start fresh. A secret which has been kept or a truth which has been hidden is now ready to to be uncovered, and the longing for something which has been lost can finally be put to rest.

Venusian blessing

The Moon will pass Venus tomorrow and that brings a much lighter feeling, as opposed  than the beginning of the month when there was the heaviness of Saturn. As soon as Mercury entered Capricorn, it was easier to express the feeling of struggle and difficulty – the usual January strife!

The New Moon in Capricorn is in conjunction with Venus and Mercury is in conjunction with Saturn, the ruling planet of Capricorn. This makes for a tactful way to have a potentially difficult or serious conversation. Be it about taking responsibility or setting boundaries, having Venus in the mix allows conversations to be fair and diplomatic.

Lilith however, will ask us to address something that we cannot articulate. Something which we know we cannot have, but we truly wish we could. It is something that we want to possess, and are in fear of letting go. We value this object highly and though we know it is irrational, we can’t bare to release our grip of it. It is a struggle between being fair, or holding on to irrational longing.

This New Moon wields enormous power, which is why we should harness it’s power to sow the seeds to bring our future plans or projects into fruition. If we can release our grip on the past, we can embrace the promise of the future. This is the seeding point for new structures to be formed, so if you want to implement system in your life, or a new discipline, now is the time.

Hello everyone, welcome to my 7th Video Blog about the Full Moon at 3° Virgo. The Sun-Moon opposition of February 2016 falls in Pisces & Virgo. The Sun in Pisces is in conjunction with the modern ruler of Pisces, Neptune adding an extra sensitive quality to this Full Moon. With watery Pisces and earthy Virgo bringing a real ‘Body, Mind and Spirit’ feel to this Full Moon, this is a good time to get in touch with the recesses of the subconscious and draw on your true creative essence.

Good News

I have some exciting news! As of this week I will be working from a clinic in Greenwich where I am setting up my Astrology Practice, seeing clients for Astrological consultation and practicing Reiki. I am extremely excited about having an office space to see clients as I haven’t had a suitable work environment for quite some time and it has always been very difficult getting any of my work done. Gremlins

I really wanted to get a blog written for this Full Moon (and so many other astrological events so far this year) but I have been extremely busy of late. I haven’t had the time due to some of the major changes occurring in my life – thanks, Uranus.

I feel like crying – I made this Vlog earlier today and I have spent the entire day running around trying to find a wifi-connection to upload my Vlog and get it posted for your viewing pleasure, prior to the Full Moon at 18:29 GMT. Sadly I was unable to find somewhere to upload the video with a stable wifi connection (for the 2nd week running) and it ended up takig me all day to upload this simple video. I am experiencing some major Saturnian problems at the moment and can really feel his approach to my Descendant.

What this Full Moon has made abundantly clear to me is that I really need to upgrade my equipment, potentially migrating over to the dark side (Apple). It is so infuriating taking the time to plan and film a video, only to experience issues when uploading in time for viewing before the celestial event discussed. With Saturn causing blockages to my progress, I am incredibly stressed (as you can probably tell). It would be great to just get it all off my chest and have a rant on video to upload onto YouTube but it would take so long, the whole exercise would be futile – though I know it would actually be hilarious to watch at a later date.

Regardless, I have decided to persevere and upload the video anyway, it would be such a shame to waste all this time and effort and have absolutely nothing to show for it. I hope you enjoy it, even if you are watching it post-Full Moon.

Welcome to my 5th Vlog of 2016! This week it took a little longer than expected as I had to do so many takes and at one point my video was gate-crashed by my sisters cat, Harper! Sadly she didn’t make the final cut but I’m sure she will be in future videos because the camera loves her!

I am getting better at planning my Vlogs and the positive feedback is really keeping me going when I feel like I’m not doing such a great job!

I keep getting lots of ideas about how I can make my Vlogs better but I am open to suggestion so please let me know if you have any suggestions for me or if there is a particular subject you would like covered. I have  lots of ideas myself, I just need to get things started really!

I have lots of plans for my videos so watch this space – I’m hoping to get them looking and sounding a little more professional soon. So this week’s video blog was a little improvised, even though I did quite a lot of preparation my notes weren’t up to the grade!  A lesson learned for next time.

On 24 January 2016 there is a Full Moon at 01:45 GMT at 03°29′ Leo. This Full Moon in Leo occurs in the early hours of the morning in the UK, on the same day Mercury slows down to station at 14° Capricorn just before 9pm GMT.

Just 3 minutes before the Full Moon reaches perfection, Mars (at 10°56′ Scorpio) rises over the Eastern horizon lending particular potency to the intensity of the ascendant, whilst making a hard aspect to the Full Moon. Though slightly wide, when the luminaries are involved a wider orb of 10° is accepted.

This is a dynamic configuration which challenges the temperament of the Moon in Leo and exacerbates the less favorable qualities of this Lunar placement. This Moon already wants to be the best and with the competitive presence of Mars there could be some serious hustle and dramatic outbursts.

Mars is being called into action by the Full Moon – Mercury Retrograde has already triggered a wake-up call and started to articulate some of our deepest secrets. However, with Mercury making a harmonious aspect to Mars, channeling anger and heated words into productive action and quick thinking is possible, and there may be an opportunity to rationalise this rather explosive planetary combination. Mercury in Capricorn is very serious and measured so any irrational and subjective behavior being kicked out from the Leo Full Moon and Mars will be dampened by Mercury the trickster, who is too smart to have the wool pulled over his eyes.

Dynamic and Volcanic

A release of some kind is inevitable with Mars and as he is in Scorpio, letting go is part of the process too. With both Mercury and Pluto making a harmonic aspect to Mars, this could be the grand unveiling of the deep dark secrets buried within the murky depths of the sea goat’s sturdy and reliable mountain.

A volcanic eruption ensues; the tension of the Sun-Moon opposition acting as the catalyst. Rumbling from the core of the Earth, the fertile landscape which once existed reduced to rubble where the secrets of the underworld  for all to see. The Moon make a harmonious aspect to Saturn from about 05:30 GMT on, later making a super-harmonious aspect with Uranus, too. This really anchors the situation back to reality to have a serious look at what has occurred and make sense from an emotionally detached/third person perspective. It is time to take responsibility for any part in these events so one can discard the old ideals that weren’t working from the rubble and begin to build a new vision from the dust.

The Full Moon and You

Aries
Being a leader is tiring for you at the moment, when all you want to do is connect with your inner child and playful creative self. Escaping from it all (preferably a holiday) is the perfect remedy for your need for change and excitement. Challenges may present themselves from the bank balance – It’s fine to dip into the pot and enjoy yourself – just be prepared for the repayments and make sure you don’t end up owing too much!

Taurus
There is no equilibrium between work and home life at the moment and as a result your relationships may be suffering. Working and living in close proximity with others may cause tensions to run high. Perhaps this as an opportunity to take up running or squash with a partner to expend that excess energy. Try to exercise some temperance between work and home and make time to pamper yourself with a massage or a long soak in the bath.

Gemini
Thinking seriously about the future and your relationship (or lack of) may be on your mind a lot at the moment. This may have caused you to think about investing in your future by taking up a course or doing some sort of work you really believe in, rather than putting all your energy into something where you are contributing to someone else’s. This is a great time to get involved with some kind of learning/community based project, just make sure you aren’t juggling too much with your already busy schedule!

Cancer
Having weighed up your financial situation – things might be feeling a little pinched at the moment. Why not channel your creative skills in to money saving and opt for romantic nights in and home cooked food than evenings out at expensive and plush restaurants? Deep discussions about the past with friends and partners, this is a great time for relationships – as long as you can let go of your baggage from the past and move forward with a  fresh outlook for the future.

Leo
Home life may be feeling stressful at at the moment and emotions may be running high for you. Spend time talking things through with friends to gain some perspective. Fortunately you have luck on your side in professional life and finance, so if things have been feeling difficult at work for a while, your contribution may get some recognition. If you were thinking of applying elsewhere, you have luck on your side. This is a great time to turn your deficits into assets.

Virgo
Differentiating feelings between yourself and those of others may be a little difficult for you at the moment. Feeling emotionally washed out can play havoc with your daily routine with things not making that much sense at the moment. Take up a hobby that you can really lose yourself in, and express beauty through order – take advantage of your manual dexterity! Knitting, sewing, or more mental activities like reading are a great way to let go and enjoy yourself right now.

Libra
You seem to have become a bit of a spend-thrift lately, impulse-buying all sorts of objects which ‘define’ you. It can be quite a buzz, but checking your bank balance after the shopping spree isn’t so much fun. With friendships and fun being highlighted during this Full Moon, you just can’t help going out and enjoying activities that the community has to offer. Try to hold back on drinking too much and sharing too many secrets – once they’re out there, you can’t get them back!

Scorpio
Being recognised and respected at work is driving you to put pressure on yourself in the work place at the moment, though the repetition of daily routine is really beginning to take it’s toll. Take it easy on yourself! Change things up even if just taking an alternative route to work. Your social life gets a boost at this time as you are focused on getting the best out of yourself. Keep your wits about you though, as there are some people around who may not have your best interests at heart.

Sagittarius
You have been taking yourself rather seriously and placing high value on sorting out your finances is a really positive thing for you right now. Curbing the spending and and paying off that overdraft is being aided by a little luck – perhaps a tax rebate, perhaps a generous friend, your financial situation is looking to be transformed. This can be a tiring time and your energy may feel dispersed, but this will pass. Enjoying a short break in the country or a visiting relatives might be the ideal way to recharge those batteries.

Capricorn
It is a good time to look at the more serious things in life, like pensions and taxes – How exciting for you, Capricorn! A spotlight on shared wealth, it’s time to do some number crunching to find out if it is feasible to enter a financial venture independently or as a partnership. People you once thought were friends are testing your patience, making you suspicious as to whether things were ever really as good as you thought they were, or if you have been laboring under a misapprehension?

Aquarius
Though your professional life is having a much appreciated burst of energy and drive at the moment, there are a few people in your private life that are require a lot of care and attention. Dissociating from the drama might not be an option if it is brought to your door and your reputation may be affected as a result. The curtain-twitching neighbors will have something to watch other than Eastenders – why can’t people do their dirty laundry in private?!

Pisces
Time to start thinking about a new health philosophy and perhaps bringing a new ritual into your routine – Pisceans cope well when chaos ensues, but perhaps it is time to add order to your meals and plan them ahead of time rather than leaving it to the last minute and eating naughty things that you know don’t agree with you. Generosity in relationships could be of huge benefit to you right now, providing care and assistance when things feel out of kilter for you.

The benefit of creating a New Moon Wish List is being able to keep track of your progress from month to month for as long as you keep creating wish lists. If you are someone who regularly writes journals as I do, you will have no problem integrating this practice into your routine.

However, If you find yourself a little forgetful and in need of a reminder to create your list, you can use your phone to set a reminder and even make and keep the list stored on there, too. It can be saved in your online diaries like iCal, which can be accessed via your smartphone, or on a laptop/PC, keeping them stored for easy reference.

I’ve scribbled my New Moon Wish Lists on Post-Its, used envelopes, random notebooks and on the appropriate page of my diary – it does help to have everything written in the same location but there is no hard-and-fast rule.

Ideally, your wishes will be personal and you can ask for things like an organised sock drawer (did I really just suggest that?) or more focus at work. You could ask for world peace, or perhaps an end to cruelty in humanity, though the wish lists aren’t really designed for collective wishes.

However, if your chart is being picked up by an outer planet transit or you are an Outer Planet Person (OPP) natally, by all means these intentions have a right to be expressed through your wish list.

It’s fun to look back over your wish lists and see how far you have come. You will find that so many of your goals and wishes have come true in some way or another and the things that haven’t, didn’t for a very good reason. It’s a great tool for putting things into perspective and can be compared to the New Moon chart to see how things panned out and what the astrological explanation may be for the results you received.

Below is a New Moon Wishlist I made previously to give you all an idea of the type of things I decided to wish for. Make a list of up to, but not exceeding 14 things (in my example – I have listed 13) that you would like to encourage from yourself or invite into your experience within the next few weeks (up to the Full Moon). Make sure you have the list completed before the New Moon reaches perfection (at the exact degree and minute of arc).

My New Moon Wish List for 23rd October 2014: Moon at 0° Scorpio

2. Get a job in Davidson School
3. Get tablecloths made
4. Finish article and submit it!

The Outcome of My New Moon Wish List

1. I completed my Canterbury Application and got accepted on the course. I eventually decided not to attend but my confidence was boosted by the whole experience.
2. I didn’t get the job at Davidson School. With hindsight, I’m glad this didn’t happen because I got another job which I really loved and was far more suited to.
3. I made the tablecloths and they looked fab! (See below)
4. I completed my article and submitted it for editing prior to publication.
5. I am now self-employed.
6. I have continued to develop my website – you are all witness to the hard work I have put in.
7. MY NLP sessions were very successful – I still use the techniques every day and couldn’t recommend it highly enough.
8. I read up and studied ADD and have mine under as much control as possible, without having to take medication for it.
9. My concentration improved with the help of MorEPA (Omega 3 with a high EPA content for concentration issues associated with ADHD).
10. I have become increasingly more motivated, and enjoy setting and achieving goals, like regular blog posts.
11. My study skills improved by learning about mind mapping, and other methods I hadn’t previously used.
12. I no longer live in my parents house in my little bedroom, but I keep my living quarters as clean and tidy as I can now. A clear and cleanly environment brings me joy and keeps me sane (OCD – Moi? More like Virgo on the 4th house cusp!)
13. I am now a Reiki Master – I give myself and others Reiki every day and use it wherever I go.

The feeling you get from looking back on an event with hindsight and realising there was a better way to do something can be quite a regretful thing, but with a New Moon Wish List, you look back with hindsight and actually have perspective about the wishes and intentions you made. It fills you with a sense of satisfaction and trust that everything is as it should be.

What I find most exciting about writing this post now is looking back on this list and realising this New Moon was a partial eclipse on a power degree (0° Scorpio). Sandwiched between Pluto and Saturn in my natal chart, it was the start of a Moon Family – something I touched on in my first blog post where I discuss Dietrech Pessins‘ Lunar Gestation Cycles.

So there you have it! I’ve opened my heart and my diaries to you all, to demonstrate the benefits of keeping a New Moon Wish List – not just to synchronise with the ebbs and flows of the Moon and her moods, but also to remind us how capable and brilliant we can be once we channel our true intentions into our will.

The Deep Desire For Change

On January 10th 2016 at 10:01am GMT, a New Moon occurs at 19° degrees Capricorn and is part of the first Mercury Retrograde of 2016. The New Moon in Capricorn underpins the long term effects of Mercury’s rather introspective Journey back to Hades, by personalising the experience and locking into your aspirations for the future. In Mythology, the New Moon is attributed to the goddess Persephone, who is kidnapped by Hades (Pluto) from her mother Demeter, and taken into the murky depths of the underworld by Hades where her innocence is taken from her. During this New Moon, Persephone does meet Hades (aka Pluto) as both the Sun and Moon are together at the same degree in Capricorn and in very close quarters to Pluto (aka Hades). During this time, Uranus in Aries challenges the New Moon and Pluto by creating friction from a 90° angle. This New Moon is the seeding process of adjustment and transformation. There may be a sudden shift in priorities, a realisation that something must change accompanied by the ‘knowing’ that these adjustments will up-root your stable foundations and require a complete reinvention of structure, boundaries and the traditions that you may have grown familiar, and comfortable with. Capricorn is not adverse to change and can manoeuvre the most arduous terrains. The difficulty with the change described in this New Moon is the need to strip down to the bare bones of what is essential to the evolution of the Sea Goat, and experience something that forces maturation. It may not appear immediately obvious, it may also not seem to be such an enormous overhaul, but the full extent of this New Moon’s implications will become more apparent as the light of the moon waxes up to full.

Persephone enjoyed her time in the underworld with Hades and decided that she would spend half the year with him and half the year with her mother. The joy and freedom she experienced when away from her mother kept her coming back for more, tying up with my recent post about Mercury Retrograde and toxic frienships. The early part of 2016 may be a trigger for the shedding of certain toxic relationships, granting the opportunity to grow.

The New Moon in Capricorn is a great time to introduce a new discipline and establish personal and emotional boundaries. Ambitions and personal aspirations can be assessed at this point and it may be a time when considering undergoing therapy, taking out health care plans or organising a pension.  It’s about sensible fun – true relaxation for Capricorn comes from knowing there is nothing left to organise, and when standing within such close proximity to Hades, mortal limitations are far more pronounced.

Planet of opportunity and faith, Jupiter is often seen as the antithesis of Saturn, ruler of Capricorn. Jupiter adds buoyancy and fun, creating a trusting attitude where we are less likely to ‘sweat the small stuff’. Seeing the bigger picture and understanding the importance of letting go and allowing these processes to occur can be understood and handed over faithfully in the knowledge that everything will be OK. When making a harmonious contact to the New Moon, Jupiter enables a larger perspective for these events to fit in to and a sensibility that gives these events meaning.

I was a bit nervous to start and completely disorganised (I am in my Batman pyjamas) but I thought there is no time like the present to get this going. As my new years resolution I decided to make a ‘Vlog’ every week and discuss Astrological happenings and upcoming aspects and events.
